Dink’s death changed Turkey: Agos Editor
Three years after Dink’s homicide a lot in Turkey has changed for the better, Agos daily editor Serkis Seropyan told NEWS.am. “I think that much changed from the viewpoint of democracy, openness and transparency. Presently, in Turkey people can speak of things they could not before Dink’s death. Today people demand more,” he added.
Speaking of trial on Hrant Dink’s assassination, Seropyan underlined that legal proceedings will continue, however Dink’s family, relatives and colleagues are discontent with the results. He also informed that the day Dink was killed — January 19, protest in front of Agos office (where the murder occurred) will be held.
Hrant Dink was a chief editor of Agos daily — the first newspaper published in Turkish and Armenian in Turkey. He was assassinated on January 19, 2007 in Istanbul by a Turkish nationalist Ogun Samast, 17, near his office.
