Open Call for Internews Chief of Party and Resident Advisor Candidates: Europe and Eurasia Region
Internews Network is an international media development organization based in Arcata, CA and Washington, DC whose mission is to empower people worldwide with the news and information they need, the ability to connect, and the means to make their voices heard. Chief of Party Internews is seeking candidates for potential media development programs in Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and/or Georgia. The Chief of Party will provide strategic guidance and leadership for Internews' program; coordinate technical, legal and professional capacity building assistance to partners and beneficiaries; ensure proper oversight of Internews personnel, financial management and administration; and coordinate with other media stakeholders in the region to ensure that Internews leverages other resources, avoids duplication and compliments other media development initiatives. The Chief of Party will also be responsible for establishing strong local and international partnerships and dialogue with the appropriate donor representatives. QUALIFICATIONS - Experience managing broad-based media development programs - Experience with professional capacity-building programs for journalists and media outlets, particularly in the CIS - Russian, Romanian, Armenian, Azeri, and/or Georgian language skills highly desired - Previous senior-level management experience, including significant staff, financial and administrative oversight - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Proved track record of success managing complex development programs - Expertise in the region highly desired Resident Advisor Resident Advisors (both long and short term) for potential media development programs in Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and/or Ukraine will bring solid technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: journalism training and mentoring; new media; youth engagement; media in conflict mitigation; curriculum development; organizational development/sustainability and monitoring and evaluation.
