2011 թվականը «Լրագրողներ հանուն ապագայի» համար աննախադեպ ակտիվ տարի էր: Կազմակերպված միջոցառումների շարքում էին սեմինարներ, իրավապաշտպանական նախաձեռնություններ, վարպետության դասեր, համաժողով և այլ նախագծեր: ԼՀԱ-ն շարունակեց նաև մեդիա ոլորտի դիտարկումներն ու լրագրողական ուսումնասիրությունները, որոնք հասանելի են JNews.am ԶԼՄ-ներին աջակցող հարթակի պահոցում:Այս բոլոր նախաձեռնությունների հիմքում ընկած էր մեկ նպատակ` նպաստել Հայաստանում բազմակարծության տարածմանը, տեղեկատվության ազատության ապահովմանը և ԶԼՄ-ների նկատմամբ հանրության վստահության ավելացմանը:Այս տարվա նախաձեռնություններից մի քանիսը նախորդ` 2010 թ-ին սկսած ծրագրերի տրամաբանական շարունակությունն էին: Դրանցից են «Համացանց. հաղորդակցության կայուն կամուրջ խուլերի համար» ծրագիրը և JNews.am ԶԼՄ-ներին ...

2011 թվականն արդեն պատմություն է, և ժամանակն է ամփոփել, թե ինչպիսին էր տարին հայկական մամուլի համար` նախապատրաստվելով նոր` 2012 թվականին: «ՋեյՆյուզ»-ի թղթակիցը հայկական մամուլին վերաբերող երեք հարց է ուղղել Հայաստանի երեք մեդիա փորձագետների, որոնց պատասխանները տարբեր են, սակայն մտահոգությունը` շատ նման:Հարց N1. SOS – Media in Danger – under the given slogan journalists protested the intrusion of the head of the managing company into Maestro TV and the removal of kiosks following Tbilisi City Hall decision. The rally was held at the Presidential Residence.   “We came here to make the authorities fulfill their responsibility and drive Erosi Kitsmarishvili out of Maestro TV premises,” said Mamuka Glonti, co-founder of Maestro TV speaking at the gathering. According to the registry Bacho Kikabidze, driven out of the building by Erosi Kitsmarishvili, is registered as the director of Maestro TV. "The law recognizes that Bacho Kikabidze is the director but the police and Mikheil Saakashvili do not. We demand the execution of law so that the journalists were able to enter the building and work on,” says Glonti. On November 30 Erosi Kitsmarishvili, together with some of his security guards climbed over the fence around the TV company premises. The decision, he clarified, was made to stop the process which aims at alienating the TV company to business tycoon Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of public movement Georgian Dream. “Let’s say we hire Erosi who used to put money into the TV company. The results of the “Hackathon [YAN] Yerevan 2011” programming and projects’ presentation competition were summed up on December 19, and authors of the most interesting projects were awarded prizes.Winner of the “Best Project” category was the “Assistant” team, which offers to create “A Voice” telephone attachment for the hearing impaired. According to the author of the project, journalist Parandzem Hovhannisyan, the project was approved by the Yerevan municipality, which has undertaken the project realization.The same project won also the "Best Social Project" category, for which the team was awarded 350 thousand drams.In addition to the "Assistant" team, awards were handed also to the “Open MS” team with a prize of 1 million drams for the “Calculation Program of Traffic Jam” and the “BigBrain” team of 500 thousand drams for the project proposal “Kinect Stand” on investing information platform for innovative technologies. Prizes were awarded also to other teams.The first Armenian Hackathon, with innovative project proposals, was devoted to solving issues in Yerevan. For 24 hours, more than 30 teams worked on their proposed projects from December 17 to 18 in the Yerevan municipality.The competition was organized by Public Journalism Club and the Microsoft Innovation Center. “President Saakashvili, do not kill the press!” – The given writing can be seen on the front pages of almost all newspapers of December 19.  KvirisPalitra, Rezonansi, Asaval-Dasavali, Versia, AkhaliTaoba, Kronika newspapers addressed the President in Georgian and English languages.  By the given joint action they protested against the removal of newspaper kiosks from Tbilisi streets.  Journalists describe the removal of kiosks as oppression of printed media and request the end to it. “This is a brazen action!  The initial reason of the given situation is the political crisis the government is facing.  Such an aggressive attack at independent media has never taken place and it is directly related to forthcoming elections,” LashaTugushi, Rezonansi editor says in an interview with KvirisPalitra newspaper.  Author of the KvirisPalitra article KhatunaPaichadze alleges that “removal of kiosks is planned in other cities and regions of the country.”  Next auction for booth locations in framework of the 1000 Booth Project is scheduled for December 28 and January 4.  The Supervision Service has since November 26 removed over 40 press distribution booths in Tbilisi.  Planeta Forte, Matsne and Elva Service owned the removed booths.  According to Rezonansi newspaper the given companies are at the edge of ...

ANKARA, 15 December 2011 - The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatović, discussed today with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu media freedom situation in the country, in particular imprisonment of journalists and Internet restrictions. "We discussed media freedom challenges in Turkey that require immediate attention, more specifically imprisonment of journalists and Internet restrictions," Mijatović said concluding her first official visit upon the invitation by the Foreign Minister. "I asked the Government to improve the situation of imprisoned journalists, for example, through alternatives to pre-trial detention, such as release on bail." "I also asked for urgent reform of the criminal law. Currently it can be used to restrict media freedom and even imprison journalists expressing critical views, as well as block websites,” said Mijatović offering her Office's full assistance in this reform. During the meeting Minister Davutoğlu assured the Representative that the main political philosophy of the Government is to promote freedom and eliminate restrictions.
